Five Most Added Players: December 14-20
- Nick Young (14.3 points, 1.3 three-pointers, 83.6% FT%): Young has been on a scoring tear and fantasy owners have taken notice. He's scored 30 points off the bench in two of his last six outings and he's had a total of 10 games with 20+ points this year. With the trade of Gilbert Arenas to the Magic, the Wizards should count on Young's scoring punch off the bench for the rest of the season. Just be aware Young will provide points, threes, and little else. Nick is available in about two-thirds of leagues.
- Kris Humphries (7.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, 53.8% FG%): Many fantasy owners panicked and dropped Humphries when Troy Murphy returned to action. As we've seen, Humphries has the starting power forward spot locked up for the time being and is worthy of a roster spot. While he won't score much, he's a good source of rebounds and blocks. The only potential threat to his playing time would be rookie Derrick Favors, who could move into the starting line up and play big minutes to get the #3 pick some experience. For the time being, you should ride Humphries until the change actually happens (if it ever does). Humphries remains available in about 60% of leagues.
- Nate Robinson (8.3 points, 1..3 three-pointers, 81.8% FG%): With Rajon Rondo out a couple of weeks due to an ankle injury, team managers jumped all over Robinson this week. Although he's playing point guard, Robinson, like Young, is mainly a scoring and three-point threat. He just doesn't do enough in other categories to help your team consistently. If you need short term point guard help, Robinson is worth a look and he's available in about 75% of leagues. Once Rondo comes back in a couple of weeks, be ready to drop Nate as his value completely diminishes with Rondo healthy.
- Martell Webster (14.8 points, 1.5 three-pointers, 55.9% FG%): Webster has played four games since his return from back surgery and he's played much better than expected right out of the gate. He's playing nearly 30 minutes a night and making an immediate impact in scoring and three-pointers while chipping in a few rebounds and assists. Webster is just borderline rosterable in standard leagues at this point. A lot of his value is coming from his high shooting percentage, but a high volume three-point shooter like Webster just cannot maintain that high of a percentage for long. Still, if you need help in scoring and threes, he's certainly worth a look and is unowned in over 80% of leagues.
- Glen Davis (12.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 50% FG%): "Big Baby" has played well all season, but only recently did many fantasy owners begin to notice. Davis is a good source of points, rebounds, and field goal percentage and he's secured the sixth man role. We only see his playing time dropping when Kendrick Perkins returns, but that won't be for a couple of months at the earliest. Davis is a free agent in about half of leagues.
